Commercial Retouching Manchester

As a commercial retoucher and using Adobe Photoshop® for over twenty years, you still learn new tricks, features and techniques and I love figuring out new ways of working in my commercial retouching workflow.

Having come from a print background the colour mode I most used was CMYK and more recently as I work more with photography and RAW files I tend to use RGB, however I didn’t really use LAB colour or know what it was really but it’s something which can be really useful and do things that the other colour modes can not.

The background change in this images was achieved without any masking but by using a technique I learned from Deke Mclelland at Kelby training using the LAB colour mode and the ‘blend if’ sliders and took about a minute to complete. Sorcery I hear you say – maybe!
